Preserving the integrity of our natural areas goes hand-in-hand with sustaining the health and vitality of our community and enhancing the quality of life for all of us.

Whenever development is proposed within or adjacent to a significant natural area or feature within our city, and expected to adversely affect the natural space, we require one of the following processes to be conducted:

  • An environmental impact study (EIS), or
  • An environmental implementation report (EIR), which is applicable only to areas that have either an approved subwatershed study or watershed study.
