Community centres are open for essential services only

All City of Kitchener community centres are closed for registered programs and non-essential services.

Some community centres remain open for these services:

  • public access computers
  • emergency social services such as food distribution and addiction support

Proof of vaccination

Individuals entering a City of Kitchener recreation facility or community centre must show proof of vaccination via a paper or electronic copy of their vaccine record as well as identification. Some exceptions apply. Learn more.  

You can print or download your vaccination receipt or QR code from the provincial booking portal.

While Ontario is in a modified version of step two of the province's roadmap to reopen, Centreville Chicopee Community Centre is open for essential services only, including public access computers and food distribution. Please register for a public access computer timeslot before visiting the centre.

Monday and Tuesday: 1 to 4 p.m.

Wednesday: closed

Thursday and Friday: 1 to 4 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday: closed

Visit our leisure access page to apply for lower registration fees for city-run programs. This does not include programs run by neighbourhood associations or our partners. Check with community centre staff for fee assistance options.

Centreville Chicopee Community Centre does not have open gym time or workout equipment.

Food program

The House of Friendship offers a food program on Wednesdays from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Family outreach program

The House of Friendship offers a family outreach program at Centreville Chicopee Community Centre. Email Dianne or call 519-498-7815 for more information.


These washrooms are available at Centreville Chicopee Community Centre:

  • one accessible washroom in the lobby
  • men’s and women’s washrooms in the hallway across from the preschool room

All our washrooms have an accessible washroom stall. There is an accessible door button to open the washroom in the lobby.

There are change tables in the accessible and women’s washrooms.

Due to COVID-19, the washrooms are only open to those who are registered for a program.

Computers and Wi-Fi

There is one public access computer available at Centreville Chicopee Community Centre. It is available when the centre is open and you can reserve time online.

Use your own phone, tablet or computer with our free Wi-Fi. Choose the “Kitchener Public WiFi” network and follow the instructions that show up.
