Looking for space to stay active, connect with others, or pursue a hobby? Book a gym or community room at participating community centres when available! Space availability varies by location and is based on community centre programming and scheduled activities. Before making a reservation, please review the booking terms to ensure your activity is eligible for the Book Free Space Program.

Book a Gym

  • Duration: 45 minutes
  • Capacity: up to 10 people
  • Frequency: Once per week
  • Booking: One week in advance 
  • Availability: First-come, first-served

Enjoy basketball, badminton, dance, soccer, pickleball, and other recreational activities in our gym space. Bookings open exactly seven days before the requested booking time. New booking times become available throughout the day as they reach the seven-day booking window. 

Note: The Book Free Space Program is intended for casual recreational use and is not available for ongoing programs, team practices, organized training, competitive play, leagues, tournaments or business activities. The Book Free Space Program provides free access to gym space for recreational use. To help ensure a safe, welcoming, and fair experience for all participants, please review and follow the terms below.  

  1. Each individual or group may hold one active gym booking within a seven-day period, regardless of location.
  2. Gym capacity must not exceed 10 people. 
  3. The permit holder must be at least 16 years of age.
  4. The permit holder must be present for the entire duration of the booking. 
  5. An adult (18 years or older) must accompany and remain with participants under 16 years of age while the gym is in use.
  6. Users must check in at the front desk upon arrival.
  7. Gym bookings are 45 minutes in length, including set-up and take-down time. 
  8. Gym bookings are for recreational use only. Rollerblading, team practices, organized training, and business activities are not permitted.
  9. Indoor shoes are required while using the gym.
  10. Users are responsible for bringing their own sports equipment.

To ensure the program continues to support fair and equitable access for all participants, staff reserve the right to cancel any booking, without notice, if these terms are not followed.

Book a community room

  • Duration: up to 1 hour and 45 minutes
  • Capacity: up to 20 people pending location 
  • Frequency: Once per week
  • Booking: Reservations open 30 days in advance
  • Availability: First-come, first-served

Whether you're hosting a neighbourhood meeting, knitting circle, study session, book club, or board game night, our community rooms provide a welcoming space to connect and gather! Multi-purpose community rooms can be booked up to 30 days in advance.

Note: The Book Free Space Program is intended for casual recreational use and is not available for ongoing programs, team practices, organized training, or business activities. Outside vendors and service providers are not permitted for these bookings. The Book Free Space Program provides free access to community rooms for leisure use. To help ensure a safe, welcoming, and fair experience for all participants, please review and follow the terms below. 

  1. The permit holder must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. Each individual or group may hold one active booking within a seven-day period, regardless of centre location. 
  3. Community room bookings are limited to a maximum of two consecutive time slots. 
  4. An adult (18 years older) must be present and remain with participants under 16 years of age.
  5. Groups must not exceed the posted room capacity. 
  6. Users must check in at the front desk upon arrival. 
  7. Room bookings are for recreational use only. Team practices, organized training, and business activities are not permitted.
  8. Sales, soliciting and other commercial activities are prohibited within the Book Free Space program. 
  9. Community Rooms shall not be used for political campaigning, partisan advocacy, or activities that promote or oppose a political party or candidate.
  10. Outside vendors and service providers are not permitted within the Book Free Space program.
  11. Tables and chairs are available upon request. Users are responsible for setting up and taking down furniture within their booked time.
