Find a program

Our Active Kitchener Program Guide is a great place to start. Cover to cover, we list the programs being offered for all age groups, as well as financial and inclusion support information. The guide is available at community centres and is available for download from our website.

If you prefer to search programs online, be sure to register for a free ActiveNet account where you can search programs and build a wish list. Then on Registration Day, simply move your wish list items to your cart and check out. It's fast and easy.

How to use ActiveNet

Watch this video to learn how to make the most of the ActiveNet search and filters.

Visit our ActiveNet questions page to find answers to common questions about the registration system.

For in-person support:

Forgot password on ActiveNet

All new accounts require at least one emergency contact. This helps keep participants safe at our programs but can cause login issues if the information is missing.

If you forget your password and use the “Forgot Password” feature on ActiveNet, the reset email will not be sent unless your account is complete - including the emergency contact details.

To complete your account and use the "Forgot Password" feature, visit any community centre or pool. Our staff will be happy to help.

Tip: Bookmark program ahead of registration day

Just before registration opens, we update ActiveNet to show only upcoming (future) programs by default—making it easier to find what you’re looking for.

  • If you use an old bookmark, it may display outdated filter settings and list current programs instead of upcoming ones.
  • To avoid this, be sure to bookmark your account page or wishlist, not the activity search page to ensure you receive the most accurate, up-to-date search results.

Tip: Save time on registration day form

A new form is available to complete ahead of registration day, making registration for your child (up to 18) for camp or programs easier and faster!

  • Complete the free form at any time before registration opens.
  • Your answers will be saved and automatically populate the form when registering.
  • One form required per participant

NOTE: This DOES NOT REGISTER you for the program itself, but it will save you the step of filling out all the forms when you return to register for spring programs and summer camps.

Practice test activities

We’ve heard your feedback - registration can be stressful. To help, we’ve created two free “practice test” activities you can use anytime to practice.

These mock activities walk you through the ActiveNet process with step-by-step instructions and video tutorials. It’s a great way to get familiar with the process before registration opens.

Search “Test” in ActiveNet, use activity codes #195356 or #195357, or click here to access them directly.

Advanced program registration

Summer camps and city-run programs requiring registration will be open to Kitchener residents (proof of address may be required) before registration opens to non-Kitchener residents, for the following programs:

  • All City of Kitchener registered recreation and leisure programs
  • All Children’s camps
  • The City of Kitchener Inclusion Support Worker Program
  • Neighbourhood Association programs that require registration

Drop-in programs, facility bookings, ice rentals, pay-as-you-play programs, or third-party programs provided at City facilities will not be impacted.

Participants from outside of Kitchener are welcome to register once the 7-day window has passed.

This new approach to registration was introduced in response to growing concerns that Kitchener residents, who are the primary funders of city-operated and taxpayer-supported facilities and programs, have struggled to secure spots due to high demand from non-Kitchener residents.
