Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre is home to a gym, snack bar and more. You can register for affordable yoga classes, fun art classes and other activities for the whole family.
The Kitchener Public Library has a community library branch attached to Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre.

COVID-19 updates
Community centres to begin reopening on Monday, Feb. 22
Effective Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 12:01 a.m., Kitchener and all of Waterloo Region will move to the Red-Control level of the Province’s COVID-19 response framework.
Some community centres will continue to remain open for emergency social services such as food distribution, warming centres, addiction support and public access computers. Community centres will begin reopening for some programs and services on February 22.
Visitors must continue to register through ActiveNet for all programs. All visitors and staff will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms.

Parking and transit
Free parking is available off Pioneer Drive.
Grand River Transit (GRT) route 16 stops on Pioneer Drive in front of Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre. Plan your route with GRT’s trip planner.
GRT no longer offers paper bus tickets. Fare payment information is available on their website.

We offer programs for kids, teens and adults of every age, including the popular programs listed below. Check ActiveNet or your copy of Active Kitchener to find the right program for you.

Drop-in programs
Join one of our free or low-cost drop-in programs to get active and have fun. Some popular programs are:

Most drop-in programs are free. Some cost $2 per session.
Leisure access
Visit our leisure access page to apply for lower registration fees. Our goal is to make city-run programs accessible to everyone.

Gym
Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre does not have open gym time or workout equipment. Join one of our drop-in programs to play basketball, pickleball and more.
Splashpad
During the summer, our splashpad is open daily. Learn more about splashpads.
Washrooms
These washrooms are available at Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre:
- two gender-neutral washrooms in the lobby (open to all visitors)
- washrooms in each of the changerooms
- men’s and ladies’ washrooms in the solarium
- men’s and ladies’ washrooms on the second floor
All our washrooms are accessible. There is an accessible changeroom as well.
There are change tables in some of the washrooms, but not in the changerooms.
Computers and wi-fi
Our community centre does not have public access computers, but there are computers available at the Pioneer Park Community Library. Check their website for details.
Use your own phone, tablet or computer with our free wi-fi. Choose the “Kitchener Public WiFi” network and follow the instructions that show up.

You can rent rooms at Doon Pioneer Park Community Centre for meetings or events. Call 519-741-2641 for more information.
