Book a gym or community room at your local community centre to use for physical activity or to host a hobby group or neighbourhood meeting. This is a free program.

Proof of vaccination

Individuals entering a City of Kitchener recreation facility or community centre must show proof of vaccination via a paper or electronic copy of their vaccine record as well as identification. Some exceptions apply. Learn more.  

You can print or download your vaccination receipt or QR code from the provincial booking portal.


Book a gym

Book a gym, previously called Book your Bubble, allows you to reserve gym space for 45 minutes, for up to 10 people to enjoy your favourite physical activity.

Spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each group can book once every seven days. If there are no times listed, that means all the times are booked for that day.

You can book time at a gym at these community centres:

Booking rules

  • to allow all residents the opportunity to book space, any one person or group can book gym space once every seven days
  • booking times are 45 minutes
  • the person booking time must be over 18 years old
  • there must be at least one adult in the gym if there are people under 16 years old using the gym
  • please bring your own equipment
  • you cannot wear outdoor shoes in the gym
  • please bring your own water
  • do not bring outside food and drinks to the community centre
  • you cannot use the book a gym program for team practices, coaching or business purposes

Safety measures

  • upon entry, all participants over the age of 12 will need to provide proof of full vaccination along with a piece of ID listing their name and birthdate and answer all questions for COVID screening
  • if all members of your group pass the first screening, they will need to sanitize their hands and wear a mask or face covering while inside the building
  • you do not need to wear a mask during gym time
  • when your time is over, you must wear your mask or face covering to leave the building through the marked exit door
  • staff will sweep and clean the gym after each use

Book a community room

Book a community room to host your next book club or neighbourhood project meeting! Multi-purpose rooms at city facilities can be reserved for free, for up to 2 hours and as far as 30 days in advance. 

Spaces are available at all centres on a first-come, first-served basis. If there are no times listed, that means all the times are booked for that particular day.

  • booking times are 45 minutes
  • the person booking time must be over 18 years old
  • there must be at least one adult present if there are people under 16 years old using the space
  • tables and chairs are available upon request
  • please ensure the capacity of the room you are booking is appropriate for your group size
  • you cannot use the book a community room program for business purposes
