Community centres are open for essential services only

Ontario is in a modified version of step 2 of the province’s roadmap to reopen. Read more.

All City of Kitchener community centres are closed for registered programs and non-essential services.

Some community centres remain open for these services:

  • public access computers
  • emergency social services such as food distribution and addiction support

Proof of vaccination

Individuals entering a City of Kitchener recreation facility or community centre must show proof of vaccination via a paper or electronic copy of their vaccine record as well as identification. Some exceptions apply. Learn more.  

You can print or download your vaccination receipt or QR code from the provincial booking portal.

While Ontario is in a modified version of step two of the province's roadmap to reopen, Kingsdale Community Centre is open for essential services only, including public access computers and food distribution. Please register for a public access computer timeslot before visiting the centre.

Monday and Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Wednesday: closed

Thursday and Friday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday: closed

Parking and transit

Free parking is available off Margaret Avenue.

Grand River Transit (GRT) route 28 stops on Wilson Avenue and 4th Avenue near Kingsdale Community Centre. Plan your route with GRT’s trip planner.

GRT no longer offers paper bus tickets. Fare payment information is available on their website.

Leisure access

Visit our leisure access page to apply for lower registration fees for city-run programs. This does not include programs run by neighbourhood associations or our partners. Check with community centre staff for fee assistance options.

Kingsdale Neighbourhood Association (KNA) covers the area around Kingsdale Community Centre.

Wilson swimming pool is an outdoor pool with swimming programs and youth drop-in swims during the summer. Check our public swimming schedule to find a time to come for a swim.

Outdoor amenities

Kingsdale Community Centre has these outdoor amenities:

  • splashpad open daily during the summer
  • soccer field and baseball diamonds

Our soccer field and baseball diamonds are available for rent.


These washrooms are available at Kingsdale Community Centre:

  • one gender-neutral washroom in the lobby
  • men’s and women’s washrooms by the gyms

All our washrooms are accessible.

There is a change table in the gender-neutral washroom.

Due to COVID-19, the washrooms are only open to those who are registered for a program.

Computers and Wi-Fi

Public access computers are available in the lobby. Please reserve a time online or contact the centre for more information.

Use your own phone, tablet or computer with our free Wi-Fi. Choose the “Kitchener Public WiFi” network and follow the instructions that show up.
