We offer programs for individuals of all ages, interests and abilities. We encourage anyone who needs an accommodation to request inclusion support. We also offer specialized programs for those with a disability and their family, friends and support workers.

If you or your child has a disability and needs support to join any City of Kitchener program, you can apply for an inclusion membership. Those with an inclusion membership can access 1:1 program support at no extra cost.


Spring 2024 programs

Mondays at 5 p.m. - MoveMEANT For All

Dates: Mondays from April 8 to June 10 (no program on May 6)

Time: 5 to 6 p.m.

Age: 14 years and up

Location: Country Hills Community Centre

Cost: $99, including HST

MoveMEANT For All is an inclusive fitness program for individuals 14 years and up with disabilities. The program will use creative and fun ways to get you working on your cardio and strength with the use of various equipment (like boxing gloves!). Program time will incorporate brief social periods to provide body breaks and maintain interest.

Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. - Inclusive Indoor Skatepark

Dates: Saturdays from April 6 to May 25 (no program on April 27)

Time: 10:30 a.m. to noon

Age: 8 years and up

Location: Queensmount Arena

Cost: free

This is a specialized program for people with a special need or disability and their family and friends. Inclusion Membership required.

There is an indoor skatepark at Queensmount Arena! The Inclusive Indoor Skatepark is an opportunity for you to try skateboarding/scootering or continue developing your skills with your family and friends. You can bring your own skateboard/scooter/rollerblades.

The arena will be equipped with ramps and rails. One changeroom will be a dedicated quiet space, number of people will be kept low and lights will be dimmed.

Helmets are mandatory when using the skatepark. Loaner skateboards, scooters and helmets are available. All skatepark users must be 8 years old or older.

The program is self-lead and is from 10:30 to noon. Come for the whole time or for the time that it suits you.

Maximum of 3 additional guests to join the person who has registered (4 people in total). If you wish to have more than an additional 3 people, please call 519-741-2200 ext. 7228. Any guests who wish to use the skatepark must be 8 years old or older. Guests can change every week if you wish.

Sundays at 1:15 p.m. - All-Access Hangout

Dates: Sundays from April 14 to June 16 (no program on May 5)

Time: 1:15 to 2:45 p.m.

Age: 14 to 21 years old

Location: Country Hills Community Centre

Cost: $92.70, including HST

All-Access hangout is for young adults 14 to 21 years of age, who have special need and/or disability and who do not require one to one support. Participants will participate in a variety of activities including sports, crafts and cooperative games in a supportive environment that meets the sensory, emotional and physical needs of the participants. Activities are designed with the interests and abilities of participants and will encourage building friendships, social skills and life skills.

All About YOUth summer camp

It’s All About YOUth Camp is designed for youth 13-17 years old with a special need and/or disability. Campers will participate in a variety of activities including sports, crafts and cooperative games in a supportive camp environment that meets the sensory, emotional and physical needs of the participants. Activities are designed with the interests and abilities of participants and will encourage building friendships, social skills and life skills. If the program is full, we encourage you to sign up for the waitlist.

To sign up for this camp, you need to have an inclusion membership. You do not need to register for inclusion support for specialized camps. If your youth requires 1:1 support, please register them for the corresponding week of inclusion support.

YOUth Sense

YOUth Sense is a summer camp program that has been specifically developed for participants who have a special need and/or a disability and who do not require one to one support. Youth with a disability, who are between 9 and 14 years of age, who thrive in a camp environment that includes a variety of activities including arts, sports, games, guest speakers and nature activities will be sure to enjoy this program. The “staff to participant” ratio is low allowing for increased opportunities to create a supportive camp environment that meets the sensory, emotional and physical needs of the participants. Participants will get the opportunity to help design the activities and our staff are specifically trained to work in a supportive camp environment.

To sign up for this camp, you need to have an inclusion membership. You do not need to register for inclusion support for specialized camps. If your youth requires 1:1 support, please register them for the corresponding week of inclusion support.

Golf Fore Life

Golf Fore Life gives people of all ages living with dementia a chance to continue to play, or return to, the game of golf.

Golfers will use the driving range and Pitch and Putt par three course weekly with their caddy. Three times in the session, golfers will golf nine holes on the regular course.

Our trained inclusion and golf staff and volunteer caddies support golfers in the Golf Fore Life program.  After our golf time, we'll enjoy a short social time with golfers, volunteers, and inclusion staff in the clubhouse.
