Parking and transit

Free parking is available off Tyson Drive.

Grand River Transit (GRT) route 5 stops on Bridge Street East, a short walk from Bridgeport Community Centre.

GRT no longer offers paper bus tickets. Fare payment information is available on their website.

Book a community room

Book a community room to host your next book club or neighbourhood project meeting! Multi-purpose rooms at city facilities can be reserved for free, for up to two hours and as far as 30 days in advance.

We partner with local organizations to offer programs and services at Bridgeport Community Centre. All programs listed below are free to attend.

Get Ready for School, Strong Start

Free program for children who are three years old. Runs from February to June.

Bridgeport Lions Club

Members’ meeting. Second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m.

Girl Guides of Canada, Brownies Unit

Every Tuesday during the school year.

Physical activity and brain stimulation program for people with dementia and their caregivers.

Leisure access

Visit our Leisure Access (fee assistance) page to apply for lower program registration fees. This does not include programs run by our partners. Check with community centre staff for fee assistance options.


Neighbourhood association

The Bridgeport Community Association (BCA) covers the area around Bridgeport Community Centre and offers community programs.

Check out their website, Instagram page and Facebook page. You can subscribe to their newsletter at the bottom of any page on their website to get updates from the association.


Park and trail

Tyson Park is next to Bridgeport Community Centre. The park has play equipment, including swings and a slide.

Walter Bean Grand River Trail runs along the Grand River, across the street from Bridgeport Community Centre.


Outdoor rink

During the winter, volunteers build and support an outdoor skating rink at Bridgeport Community Centre. Join us for fun and fitness all winter long!

Season: December to March

Hours: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.


Washrooms

There are men’s and women's washrooms in the main lobby of Bridgeport Community Centre.

Both washrooms are accessible. There is a change table in each washroom.


Computers and Wi-Fi

Public access computers are available in the lobby on a first-come, first-served basis.

Use your own phone, tablet or computer with our free Wi-Fi. Choose the “Kitchener Public WiFi” network and follow the instructions that show up.

Rentals

You can rent rooms at Bridgeport Community Centre for meetings or events. Room rates are per hour and include HST. Capacities include chairs only. If tables are required, the capacity will be less.

  • room one – seating capacity 180 people - $62.42 per hour, including HST
  • room two – seating capacity 20 people - $22.44 per hour, including HST
  • room three – seating capacity 50 people - $44.43 per hour, including HST

Note that when booked after business hours a three hour minimum rental is required and additional staff charges will apply.

Depending on the nature of your event other rental costs can include:

  • Resound and SOCAN fees

  • licensing
