Each year, National Youth Week takes place May from 1 to 7. We're working with community partners and organizations to extend Youth Week into Youth Month with many free events and opportunities available for youth.

Let's celebrate youth

For the entire month of May, we will host multiple free events for youth in our community. Young people deserve to be celebrated for their significant contributions and ongoing dedication to our community.


Free youth events

We are hosting lots of free events to celebrate youth all month! From pizza and ice cream parties to art exhibits, dodgeball and basketball tournaments, sports trivia, board games, bike repair, an innovation fair, youth awards, thrift night and more!

Youth Month Swim Pass

We are offering free swim passes for youth ages 12 to 24 in honour of Youth Month, to enjoy recreational swims at any City of Kitchener pool throughout the month of May. Sign up for yours today!

KYAC Youth Awards

Every year, the Kitchener Youth Action Council (KYAC) celebrates the talents and contributions of young people in our community. We want to promote a positive image of young people and generate awareness of the valuable contributions youth make in our community.
