Audited financial statements
One of the ways we demonstrate openness and accountability to the community is by sharing details of our operational performance, as well as our financial position.
Each year, our financial statements are audited by an independent accounting firm and made available to the community. The annual financial report contains:
- Consolidated financial statements, as required by the Municipal Act
- Trust fund financial statements
- Separate financial statements for local boards, gas utility enterprise and government business enterprises
- Financial and statistical review

We also produce a financial information return on an annual basis. The returns are used by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing to collect financial and statistical information on Ontario municipalities.
