Programs at home
Kitchener Tech Connects - free tech courses and technology lending library |
We're offering older adults free essential technology training and a technology lending library. The goal of this program is to improve social connections and access to information during the COVID-19 pandemic and into the future. We are excited to offer these free tech courses for older adults in our community. Learn more on our Kitchener Tech Connects page. |
Kitchener Connections |
Kitchener Connections is an interactive, telephone-based, social and recreational program that aims to keep older adults active and engaged in their community from the comfort of their own home. Sessions are offered daily and include a variety of topics from Trivia, Family Feud, Bingo, Fun Facts, Name that Tune and more! Grab a coffee (or tea or hot chocolate) and hang out with the Kitchener Connections program coordinator to chat! Please note: Registration is required for all Kitchener Connections programs as space is limited. For more information or to register for Kitchener Connections, call (519) 741-2382. Registration is simple and only requires participants to complete a simple intake form over the phone. Registered participants are welcome to sign up for one or more daily program sessions offered throughout the week. For more information or to register for Kitchener Connections call (519) 741-2382. |
Connections @ Home |
To help older adults stay active and connected while at home, we're delivering curated activity boxes and kits to their front door. During registration, we'll ask you to complete an initial questionnaire about your social and leisure interests to help personalize the activities and programs selected for each activity box. To further support social connections, individuals receiving the activity boxes will be encouraged to join weekly teleconferences or Zoom programs to participate in group activities such as BINGO, guest speakers, trivia games or discussions. For more information about this program or to register, please call 519-741-2916 (TTY 1-866-969-9994) or send us an email. |
