Priority 1 streets (Main or arterial roads and GRT bus routes on these roads)

  • service level during a snowfall: includes plowing and/or de-icing according to weather conditions
  • all priority 1 routes are maintained until they meet or exceed minimum maintenance standards

Priority 2 streets (Steep hills, sharp curves and GRT bus routes on these roads)

  • service level during a snowfall: includes plowing and/or de-icing according to weather conditions, including Grand River Transit routes, hills and curves, and access roads carrying 5,000 to 19,999 vehicles per day
  • work on Priority 2 streets begins only after Priority 1 streets have been completed
  • if snow resumes while in Priority 1 or 2, then clearing Priority 1 roads is restarted

Priority 3 streets (Full plow of local residential streets)

  • service level during a snowfall: includes plowing and/or de-icing according to weather conditions
  • work on Priority 3 routes starts only after priorities 1 and 2 have been completed
  • if snow resumes while in Priority 1 or 2, then clearing Priority 1 roads is restarted
