The City of Kitchener continues to provide loose leaf collection from leaf zones every year in the fall.

Snow

The City of Kitchener clears snow and ice from roads and sidewalks around city-owned facilities, walkways and parks. You are responsible for clearing snow and ice from sidewalks around your property.

Recycling

As of March 2026 residential recycling in Kitchener is part of Ontario’s Blue Box program. This change is part of the provincial shift to a framework where producers are fully responsible for the end-of-life management of blue box materials. Curb side recycling is managed by Circular Materials and collected by Miller Waste.
