About Erick Traplin Day

Join us for a fun-filled day as we celebrate the incredible Erick Traplin and his over 35-year career bringing joy to families across the region! With activities for all ages throughout the day, the highlight will be a special 1 p.m. celebration to say a heartfelt thank you to Erick. 

Enjoy live performances, special guests, free games, activities and more as we honour the person who has been a cherished part of so many childhoods. Whether you’ve sung along as a parent or grown up with Erick’s music, we can’t wait to have you join us for an afternoon of fun, music and memories to celebrate his career and commitment to our community.

Activities and schedule

This celebration will be a day of free fun and music for all ages. Gather your family, come with friends or loved ones, or treat yourself to a summer day out to enjoy: 

  • live entertainment from Erick Traplin and other family-friendly performers 
  • roaming performers 
  • family-friendly activities and games (face painting, balloon artist, sidewalk chalk, and more) 
  • inflatable games 
  • food trucks 
  • and more!

Parking and transit

However you get downtown, there are options available:

Transit

Hop off the ION at either the Kitchener City Hall or Victoria Park station for a quick walk. Central Station is also a short walk away.

GRT routes 7, 8, 20 and iXpress 204 stop within walking distance of City Hall and Carl Zehr Square.

Vehicle and bike parking

Parking is available in the City Hall parking garage, as well as other City of Kitchener parking lots around Downtown Kitchener. Visit our parking locations page to find somewhere to park.
