KITCHENER – ‘Tis the season - City of Kitchener facilities and buildings will have modified hours for the holidays.

CITY HALL

City hall offices will be open 8:30 a.m. to noon on Monday, Dec. 24 and closed on Tuesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Dec. 26 for the statutory holidays. Offices will also be open 8:30 a.m. until noon on Dec. 31 and closed on Monday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.

The building, however, will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.Dec. 24-27 and Jan. 1. On Dec. 31, the building will be open until 12:30 a.m. for New Year’s Eve celebrations.  

KITCHENER MARKET

The Kitchener Market will be closed for holidays on Tuesday, Dec. 25 and Wednesday, Dec. 26, as well as on Tuesday, Jan. 1. The full Saturday market will be open on Dec. 29 during regular hours of 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the upper level food hall will be open on Thursday, Dec. 27, Friday, Dec. 28 and Wednesday, Jan. 2 during regular hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

THE AUD AND ARENAS

Operating hours for the Activa Box Office at The Aud during the holiday season are posted online at www.theaud.ca/buytickets.

For public skating schedules, please visit www.theaud.ca/skatingschedule.

The Aud will be open until noon on Dec. 24, and closed on Dec. 25 and 26. The facility will be open until noon on Dec. 31 and will be open on Jan. 1 for a Kitchener Rangers game and other rentals, including a public skate sponsored by Kitchener Utilities.

All community arenas and the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation indoor track at Activa Sportsplex are closed Dec. 25, 26, and Jan. 1.

The outdoor rink in Carl Zehr Square at Kitchener City Hall is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 24, 25, and Jan. 1. On Dec. 26, the outdoor rink will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on New Year’s Eve, from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m.

POOLS

All indoor pools are closed Dec. 24 to 26, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Cameron Heights Pool will also be closed on Dec. 23.

BUDD PARK 

Budd Park will be closed from Dec. 22 through Jan. 4, reopening for regular scheduled programs on Jan. 5, 2019.

COMMUNITY CENTRES

All community centres will be open 9 a.m. to noon on Dec. 24. All centres will be closed Dec. 25 and 26, but will reopen on Dec. 27 and 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Dec. 31, centres will be open from 9 a.m. to noon and will close again on Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.

KITCHENER PUBLIC LIBRARY

All Kitchener Public Library locations will close at 1 p.m. on Dec. 24, and will be closed all day on Dec. 25 and Dec. 26. All library locations will close at 1 p.m. on Dec. 31, and will be closed all day on Jan. 1, 2019. Regular library hours will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2019. All library locations are currently closed on Sundays. Sunday hours will resume (at the Central Library only) starting Jan. 6, 2019. For more information, visit www.kpl.org/hours.
