Neighbours Day is an annual community celebration presented by the City of Kitchener. It is a day dedicated to building community pride and neighbourhood spirit through live music, summer fun, and social activities. Residents across the city are invited to participate. This year, Neighbours Day will be held on Saturday, June 17 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in neighbourhoods across the city.

The City of Kitchener is currently accepting applications for 50 local musicians or bands to perform live and help us celebrate Neighbours Day. From porches to driveways, front lawns to street parties, local musicians will share their unique talents through intimate, outdoor pop-up concerts hosted by residents in neighbourhoods throughout the city.

Each musician will commit to performing pop-up concerts at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Neighbours Day organizers will assign performers to the concert locations and each concert will be approximately one hour. Performances can be acoustic or amplified and the musicians must provide their own equipment and transportation. Performers will receive an honourarium from the city for their time and travel.

If you are interested in performing at a Neighbours Day concert, applications are being accepted until March 31, 2023. For a full description, or to apply, visit www.kitchener.ca/neighboursday.
