  • Golf Fore Life program supports individuals living with dementia

     A unique and supportive recreation program is returning to Doon Valley Golf Course this summer.

    Golf Fore Life offers individuals living with dementia the opportunity to enjoy the game of golf in a welcoming, social, and supportive environment—while also inviting community members to volunteer as caddies. 

  • Indigenous Peoples Gathering Space to be installed in Victoria Park

    This summer, a new ceremonial fire space will be installed in Kitchener’s Victoria Park. The Indigenous Peoples Gathering Space will be a dedicated site for local Indigenous organizations to come together for sacred fires, ceremonies and traditional wellness practices. The space will be the first of its kind in a City of Kitchener park space.

    Please be advised that Victoria Park has been temporarily closed as of 9 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, and is expected to reopen on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

  • Kitchener to Celebrate Rangers’ Championship Season with Community Rally Ahead of Memorial Cup

    Kitchener, ON – The City of Kitchener is inviting residents, fans, and community members to gather in Carl Zehr Square at Kitchener City Hall this Tuesday, May 19, at 5:00 p.m. for a special Rangers Rally as the community sends off the Kitchener Rangers ahead of their journey to Kelowna for the 2026 Memorial Cup (May 21-31).  

  • City of Kitchener presents two nights of artist development with acclaimed Canadian musicians

    Coming to the Conrad Centre for the Performing Arts June 4 and 5, 2026, local musicians of all ages, skills and career stages are invited to join a two-night artist development experience. 

    The series begins on June 4 with Patchwork Songwriting Workshop, an immersive experience featuring Matt Mays, Tony Dekker (Great Lake Swimmers), produced by local singer/songwriter Conor Gains, followed by Finding Your Voice: An Artist Development Workshop on June 5, led by Juno Award–nominated musician Emm Gryner.

  • Kitchener celebrates local youth with KYAC Youth Awards

    The Kitchener Youth Action Council (KYAC) Youth Awards were presented at the Victoria Park Pavilion earlier this evening before an audience of nearly 200 people. This annual event celebrates the talents and contributions of youth ages 14 to 24 in our community.

  • Kitchener’s LoveMyHood grant program celebrates $1.6 million funding milestone

    Kitchener, ON– Earlier this evening, the City of Kitchener’s LoveMyHood team gathered at Timm Park with residents, community leaders and project partners to celebrate neighbourhood leadership, creativity, and collaboration. The City’s LoveMyHood program was built on a simple idea: that neighbours know their communities best. And when residents are supported with resources, encouragement, and partnership, wonderful things can happen. 

    Tonight, seven new LoveMyHood grant-supported projects from the spring intake were announced. Proposed projects, totalling $90,000, include neighbourhood placemaking, community events, arts and creative initiatives, greening and outdoor improvements across Kitchener.
