This evening, Kitchener Fire (KFD) responded to residential structure fire HollyRidge Cr. in Kitchener. Six fire trucks were dispatched to the scene. The fire started in the garage with only smoke migrating into the residence. Damage estimates are estimated at up to $150,000. There are no structural concerns.

Bridgeport Community Centre will be closed at 5 p.m. today, Friday, March 13, 2026. All evening programs are cancelled. The community centre will reopen tomorrow during regular hours.

The City of Kitchener has declared a snow event. Residents have until 2 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026 to remove their parked cars from city streets. This helps ensure our plows and snow clearing equipment are able to effectively and efficiently clear snow from roadways across the city.
