Kitchener pools promote water safety during April Pools Month
It's April Pools Month, but water safety is no joke. Drowning is fast and silent; however, every drowning death is preventable with proper water safety knowledge and common sense. Knowing the risks and understanding water safety can help ensure that everyone has fun and stays safe in and around water.
The City of Kitchener is marking April Pools Month from April 1 to 30 with Toonie Swims ($2 per person) on Saturdays and Sundays at select indoor city pools. The proceeds will support City of Kitchener Water Smart safety programs. Public swim admission guidelines will apply.
Join us at any of the following pools:
-
April 4 and April 5: Breithaupt Centre Pool (350 Margaret Avenue)
-
April 11 and April 12: Forest Heights Pool (253 Fischer Hallman Road)
-
April 18 and April 19: Grand River Rec Complex (600 Heritage Drive)
-
April 25 and April 26: Grand River Rec Complex (600 Heritage Drive)

The city will also have free water safety resources available at all indoor pools to promote safe and responsible behaviour in and around water to prevent water-related injuries.
