What's new in ward 7
Hello Ward 7!
After a long winter, spring has finally arrived, and with it comes a busy season of maintenance and cleanup across the city.
As temperatures rise, pothole repairs are now underway. Warmer road conditions allow hot asphalt to bond properly, making repairs more durable. Crews are monitoring road conditions across the city and prioritizing repairs on high‑traffic roads. If you spot a pothole in Kitchener, please report it here www.kitchener.ca/report.
Once freezing temperatures are consistently behind us, the City will complete its spring litter cleanup. This work focuses on downtown areas, parks, known hotspots, and service requests submitted through the Corporate Contact Centre. Garbage cans that were temporarily relocated for winter will be returned to their original locations as ground conditions allow. You can use the Find a Garbage Can map at www.kitchener.ca/litter to locate nearby bins while out walking.
Between May and September, grass cutting generally occurs every three to four weeks, depending on weather conditions. Spring's warm temperatures and heavy rain makes grass grow quickly, creating a more challenge to manage frequent cuttings. During wet periods, some areas may be too wet for equipment to access safely. In dry weather, grass may go dormant or grow very slowly, resulting in less frequent cutting.
If you need assistance or would like to report an issue, the City’s Corporate Contact Centre is available 24/7. Email: info@kitchener.ca Phone: 519-741-2345
Thank you for helping keep Kitchener clean and safe.
