    Earlier this morning, Kitchener Fire (KFD) responded to a two-storey garage/shed fire located at Vanier Drive in Kitchener. The call came in at approximately 4:40 a.m., and four fire trucks were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, crews encountered an active fire within the structure and began suppression efforts.

    Applications are now open for the City of Kitchener’s 2026 Artist in Residence program. This year’s program will focus on the local music industry and appoint a Musician in Residence for the first time since 2019. Kitchener’s Artist in Residence program is the oldest of its kind in Canada, encouraging artists to develop their practice or interests as they engage and collaborate with the community.
