Kitchener Fire Department: Major Incident Report - August 2, 2026
At approximately 6:30 a.m., Kitchener Fire crews responded to a multi-unit residential townhome fire on Courtland Avenue East. Upon arrival, crews encountered a fire in the exterior entrance area serving two units and quickly brought the situation under control. The affected units were vacant and unoccupied at the time of the incident. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. Damage is estimated at $200,000.
At this time, there are no concerns regarding structural damage to the building.
The Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM) and Kitchener Fire Prevention have been notified. Police and fire personnel remain on scene as the investigation continues.
