Councillor Paul Singh
Ward 6

In Office: 2010 - present
Paul is a longtime resident of Kitchener and exceptionally passionate about the Ward 6 community, as this is where he grew up and bought his first home.
Prior to being elected to council, Paul served on the Economic and Development Advisory Committee from 2006 to 2008, and since his election has sat for multiple terms on this Advisory Committee. He has been a strong supporter of the city's continued efforts to make Kitchener a viable candidate for new business and economic growth, helping to improve the quality of life of Kitchener residents through prosperity.
Paul attended Forest Heights Collegiate High School and later Wilfrid Laurier University, beginning his career in the mortgage services field. As a professional in the mortgage industry for many years, he has formed a broad understanding of the diverse financial pressures the average family may experience. Paul is proud to have also built a business in real-estate management and development. As an entrepreneur, Paul has a strong grasp of budgetary matters, understanding the balance required between investing in growth, while curtailing costs.
As councillor of Ward 6, Paul continues to use his skills, knowledge and experience gained from his education, career, committee membership, and familiarity with our community to provide effective and committed leadership in order to address the distinct needs and concerns of the residents and businesses of Ward 6 and this city.
Over the past decade Paul has advocated for the improvement of many Ward 6 and city-wide services and amenities. In numerous cases, his ideas, advocacy, and motions have resulted in the initiation of several programs, events, and services, including:

What's new in ward 6
Dear Neighbours,
I want to provide you with a timely update on the projects improving our Ward 6 neighbourhoods. Following recent budget discussions and community feedback, I have important news regarding the amenities at McLennan Park, alongside upgrades to our community hubs and trails.
McLennan Park Washrooms Update
I know the status of the washrooms at McLennan Park has been a concern for many. While the permanent building remains closed due to structural and servicing challenges, I am pleased to confirm that we have secured a better solution.
- For this 2026 Season: We will be moving away from the current “port-a-potties.” Instead, a washroom trailer will be in place from May to October to provide a more comfortable and dignified facility for families and park users.
- Long-Term Plan: A Master Plan update for the park will commence this spring. The process will explore permanent solutions, including the potential for a new standard park washroom near Block Line or retrofitting existing structures.
Lions Park & Community Centres
- Lions Park: We are looking ahead to the future of this vital green space. Construction on the new splash pad and courts is scheduled to begin late this year, with a target opening of Summer 2027.
- Chandler Mowat & Country Hills: To better serve you, we are expanding weekend operating hours at both community centres. Additionally, the Community Canopy project is bringing more trees to Chandler Mowat, enhancing the greenery around the facility.
Active Transportation
We are continuing to improve how you move through the city. New way-finding signage (waypoints) are being installed along our trails. These signs will help pedestrians and cyclists navigate our network more easily, connecting you to schools, parks, and transit.
I am committed to ensuring these interim measures at McLennan Park meet your needs while we build for the future. For more details, please visit www.kitchener.ca.
