About PYEC
PYEC is a group where youth voices inform decisions about park design and improvement projects in Kitchener. We aim to create a safe, inclusive and welcoming space where every member feels respected and supported.
Your ideas and lived experiences help the City understand what youth want and need in parks.
PYEC members take part in:
- sharing youth perspectives on new and existing park designs
- giving feedback on accessibility, safety and play value
- joining design workshops and discussions
- helping staff understand what features matter most to youth
- learning how parks are planned and built
By joining PYEC, you can:
- influence real park projects
- build leadership and communication skills
- meet other youth
- learn about city planning and design
- support your community
- strengthen your resume
