Save time on registration day
We have a new form available to complete ahead of registration day that will make registering your child (up to 18) for camp or programs easier and faster!
- Complete the form anytime before registration opens.
- Your answers will be saved and automatically populate the form when registering.
- One form required per participant
NOTE: This DOES NOT REGISTER you for the program itself, but it will save you the step of filling out all the forms when you return to register for spring programs and summer camps.
Camps for those with disabilities
We offer specialized camps for children and youth with disabilities:
Youth Drop-In (YDI)
Summer Youth Drop-In (YDI)
Youth Drop-In will be available all summer long at a local Kitchener community centre. Sign-up at the door and make new friends each night over games, sports, arts and crafts, food and fun activities. All YDI programs are FREE.
Looking to volunteer at Youth Drop-In?
The Kitchener Youth Crew gives kids aged 12 to 17 a chance to help out at youth drop-in programs at their local community centre. It’s a great way to earn volunteer hours, meet other youth and improve your community.

BYLD program
Our Building Youth Leadership Development (BYLD) gives young people aged 12 to 15 the opportunity to learn leadership skills, responsibility and self-confidence.
Learn more and register on our BYLD program page.
School year programs
We offer these programs during the school year:
- after-school programs
- weekend programs
- winter holiday break camp
- Easter Monday camp
- March Break camp
- P.D. day camps
Learn more about school year programs.
Camp readiness
All campers must be program ready. To be program ready, a camper must be able to:
- take direction and instruction from a staff person
- interact and participate within the camp environment (based on the camper’s abilities)
- interact and participate in a way that is safe for themselves and others
- attend school successfully (if school-aged)
Some campers may need more support to help them be successful at camp. With support from Every Kid Counts or another program, campers must be able to show that they are program ready.
If a camper is not showing that they are program ready, they may be removed from the program.
Age requirement
For all 2026 summer camps, campers must be at least four years old by December 31, 2025. Specific age requirements vary.
Accessibility and support
If you have a child with a disability or special needs, consider a City of Kitchener or City of Waterloo summer camp. Our inclusion support staff will help make your camper’s summer fun and safe. You can register your child for up to two weeks of summer camp inclusion support each year, based on availability. Personal Support Workers and volunteers are also welcome.
Visit our inclusion support page or call 519-904-5793 to learn more.
Visit our Leisure Access (fee assistance) page to apply for lower registration fees. Our goal is to make city-run programs accessible to everyone.
