Leisure Access

Visit our Leisure Access (fee assistance) page to apply for lower program registration fees. This does not include programs run by our partners. Check with community centre staff for fee assistance options.

Neighbourhood association

Mount Hope Breithaupt Park Neighbourhood Association covers the area around Breithaupt Centre. Check out their blog and Facebook page.

Gymnasium

Breithaupt Centre does not have open gym time or workout equipment.

Pool

Breithaupt Centre Pool is an indoor pool with public swimming and swimming lessons. Check our public swimming schedule to find a time to come in for a swim.

New this fall: Intro to Water Polo for children ages 9 to 12 with a focus on water polo skills and drills. Child must meet pre-requisites to participate.

Park

Breithaupt Park has:

• a splash pad that is open in the summer
• 3 baseball diamonds, available for booking

If you are visiting the baseball diamonds, you can find extra parking off Union Street.

Washrooms

These washrooms are available at Breithaupt Centre:

• two gender-neutral washrooms in the lobby (open to all visitors)
• washrooms in each of the changerooms
• men’s and ladies’ washrooms in the solarium
• men’s and ladies’ washrooms on the second floor

All our washrooms are accessible. There is an accessible changeroom as well.

There are change tables in some of the washrooms, but not in the changerooms.

Computers and Wi-Fi

Our public access computers in the front lobby are available while the centre is open. Please sign in with staff before using the computers.

Use your own phone, tablet or computer with our free Wi-Fi. Choose the “Kitchener Public WiFi” network and follow the instructions that show up.

Rentals

• rooms 201, 202, 205 – seating capacity 15 people - $22.43 per hour, including HST
• room 109 – seating capacity 35 people - $44.42 per hour, including HST
• room 206 – seating capacity 20 people - $32.00 per hour, including HST
• room 207 – seating capacity 75 people - $62.45 per hour, including HST
• gymnasium – seating capacity 300 people - $88.85 per hour, including HST

Note that when booked after business hours a three hour minimum rental is required and additional staff charges will apply.

Depending on the nature of your event other rental costs can include:

• Resound and SOCAN fees
• insurance
