Emily Jane is a mixed-media artist who creates vibrant acrylic multi-layered paintings and complex, resonant collages. Her work explores connecting with nature, overcoming challenges and grief, whole-hearted living and truth-seeking. She loves to use art to facilitate healing and personal growth.
Berlin Tower ARTSPACE

January and February - Emily Jane
March and April - Charity Konrath
Charity explores the narrative qualities of obituary images. She interprets and imagines the deceased persons with paint on canvas and implants the memories back into the community through these portraits.
Krishna is a self-taught visual artist whose practice explores the subtle connections between memory, place and belonging through landscape, wildlife and still life painting. She works mostly in acrylic and watercolor finding inspiration in the natural world and ordinary objects.
July and August - Claire Allgeier and Wendy Newbury
A mother and daughter present mixed media works by each artist responding to each other’s work. The exhibition will honour the complexity and energy of relationships and celebrate the diversity of perspectives between family members.
September and October - Carol Spooner
The Texture of Us is an artistic photography project that celebrates the beauty, complexity and cultural expression within the Black community of Waterloo Region. Through a series of fine art portraits, this project explores how our physical features — from the varying shades of our skin to the diverse textures of our hair — carry the stories of ancestry, migration and identity.
November and December - SHORE Centre
SHORE Centre is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing sexual and reproductive healthcare to the Kitchener-Waterloo community. They partnered with Inter Pares, a feminist social justice organization based in Ottawa, to bring their exhibit to the Kitchener-Waterloo Region. The exhibit showcases the work of photographers highlighting the lives and struggles of feminist activists in El Salvador, Bangladesh and the Philippines.
