How to apply for a marriage licence in person
Walk-ins are welcome but you are encouraged to book an appointment. Applications will not be accepted past 4:30 p.m.

- marriage licence application (complete and printed, see sample complete application)
- two pieces of original, government-issued identification for each person (we do not accept photocopies)
- extra documents if either person has been divorced
- no extra documents if either person is a widow
1. Prepare your application
To process your application, we need:

- extra documents if either person has been divorced
- no extra documents if either person is a widow
You must download Adobe Acrobat Reader (version 10.0 or above) to view/print the marriage licence application form.
2. Go to City Hall
City Hall is open for walk-ins. If you want to plan your visit, you can book an appointment.
3. Get your licence
If the provided documents are valid and consistent, we issue the marriage licence on the day of your application.
