Call for applications for Kitchener’s RISE fund 2024

The City’s Racialized and Indigenous Supports for Equity (RISE) Fund is accepting applications for the fall intake beginning today until Oct. 30, 2024.

The community grant provides support for Black, Indigenous, and racialized community-led organizations, programs, initiatives or events designed to decrease inequities and increase opportunities and well-being for those communities in Kitchener. This opportunity is open to registered charities and not-for-profit organizations as well as new and grassroots groups who are not registered as a charity or not-for-profit organization.

Since 2022, the City’s RISE Fund has awarded $325,000 in grants to Black, Indigenous and other racialized community-led programs, projects and events. In 2024, the RISE Fund has a budget of $150,000, with these maximums and minimums:

  • maximum annual grant amount for groups: $10,000
  • minimum annual grant amount for groups: $1,000
  • maximum for events: $5,000

Applications can be submitted online and in person at all City community centres. Paper copies are also available at all City of Kitchener community centres upon request. Applications can be submitted in languages other than English, and translation or interpretation services will be provided upon request. The deadline to apply is Oct. 30, 2024.
