Summer Hiring Expo will highlight available job opportunities

The City of Kitchener is looking for enthusiastic, responsible, and dedicated staff to join our team this summer! You are invited to meet with city staff from children and youth programs, aquatics, inclusion support, and human resources and learn about opportunities available with the city this summer!

The Summer Hiring Expo will feature both paid and volunteer opportunities with the City of Kitchener. Drop in anytime on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Kingsdale Community Centre, 72 Wilson Ave., Kitchener. Meet with City of Kitchener staff, explore great opportunities, and take part in short workshops to learn resume writing tips and how to apply for a job at the City of Kitchener.

Each year, the City of Kitchener hires over 200 staff (ages 15+) to help deliver summer camp and youth drop-in programs across the city, including:

• Summer camp coordinators
• Assistant coordinators
• Aquatic & neighbourhood camp leaders
• Aquatics instructors / lifeguards
• Inclusion coordinators
• Inclusion support workers
• Youth leadership development coordinator
• Youth drop-in team leaders
• Youth drop-in leaders
• Parks & Cemeteries student labourers
• Volunteer opportunities also available

Starting wages begin at $19.95 per hour. Whether it’s a full-time summer job, or a part-time job, working with the city is the perfect way to spend your summer. These job opportunities offer a great learning experience and help to build leadership, team building and program planning skills while providing a fantastic summer experience.
