Wicked Sing-Along combines music and movies in one unforgettable evening

Follow the yellow brick road to Downtown Kitchener next month for the City’s most Popular event.

The City of Kitchener is hosting its first-ever Wicked Sing-Along on Saturday, June 7 in Carl Zehr Square. Join us from 6 to 10:30 p.m. for an outdoor screening of Wicked and sing along to your favourite hits from the movie. Don’t forget to wear your best pink or green to bring a taste of Oz to the heart of our city.

As the sun goes down, the big screen will light up with one of the biggest movies of 2024. Wicked tells the story of the witches of Oz, Elphaba and Glinda, and their unlikely friendship before their lives take different paths. Accompanied by Pop Nation Canada, you’ll sing along to hits like Defying Gravity, Popular, Dancing Through Life and many more. Warm up your vocal cords and get ready to unleash your inner Elphaba!

Amanda & James will be kicking off the evening with a live concert to get us all in the musical mood. Kitchener's own rising stars in the country music scene, this dynamic duo has been making waves across the province with their heartfelt lyrics, tight harmonies and undeniable stage presence. Fresh off their recent nomination for Best Group or Duo of the Year at the Country Music Association of Ontario Awards, Amanda & James are bringing their signature sound to kick off the night with energy, talent and hometown pride.

Before the evening starts, come downtown early to grab dinner on a patio or pick up some takeout from one of our downtown businesses for a picnic under the stars. Whether you bring the whole family, gather some friends or treat yourself to some me-time, this is sure to be an evening you won’t want to miss.
