Thanksgiving weekend 2024: what’s open and closed

Kitchener City Hall will be closed for Thanksgiving on Monday, Oct. 14, 2024. Services offered by staff will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 8:30 a.m.

Community centres

Most community centres will be closed on Sunday, Oct. 13, except for:

• Huron: 1 to 5 p.m.

• Stanley Park: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Centreville Chicopee: 1-5 p.m.

All community centres will be closed on Monday, Oct. 14.

Pools

All indoor pools will be open regular hours on Saturday, Oct. 12, and Sunday, Oct. 13, and will be closed on Monday, Oct. 14 except Grand River Rec Complex which will be open from 12 to 5:30 p.m.

City splashpads and outdoor pools are closed for the season.

Kitchener Public Library

All Kitchener Public Library locations will be open regular hours on Saturday, Oct. 12.

All locations will be closed on Sunday, Oct. 13 and Monday, Oct. 14.

Golf courses

Doon Valley and Rockway Golf Courses will be open during regular hours on Monday, Oct. 14. Book a tee time: KitchenerGolf.ca

Kitchener Market

The Kitchener Market will be open Saturday, Oct. 12, from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. and closed as usual on Sunday, Oct. 13 and Monday, Oct. 14.

The Kitchener Market Food Hall will be open for regular business hours on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

The Aud and arenas

The Aud and community arenas will be open during regular weekend hours and on Monday, Oct. 14, for scheduled rentals.

Budd Park

Budd Park office will be closed on Monday, Oct. 14. Scheduled rentals will still be running on Monday, Oct. 14. Budd Park office will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
