Speaker series event focuses on industry, innovation and infrastructure

The City of Kitchener, in collaboration with the Waterloo Region Small Business Centre (WRSBC), hosts a free monthly speaker series called SDG Talks. The series explores the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and how we can create a more socially and environmentally sustainable planet. This year’s theme, Community of Difference Makers, highlights individuals and organizations advancing environmental stewardship, community building and social entrepreneurship.

Join us for our next SDG Talks event on Tuesday, October 28, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the SDG Idea Factory, 2 King St. W., Kitchener. The panel will focus on SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure.

This enlightening discussion will explore how entrepreneurs are advancing the goals of SDG 9 through ethical technology, accessible education and community-driven solutions. Our panelist of innovators represent organizations building tools that make technology human-centred, including:

  • Saba Oji, founder and CEO of HolisticMindAI, which builds therapist-guided AI tools that support mental health providers with documentation and extends safe, ethical care to clients between sessions.

  • Arun Srinivasan, head of SusTern Inc., which leverages AI to reshape supply chain management through cost-effective and accessible innovations.

  • Stefanie Bruinsma, founder of AutoCate, a company dedicated to empowering drivers with the knowledge and confidence to take control of their vehicles, redefining how drivers engage with the automotive world.

Greg Kay will be facilitating the discussion. As the champion of EdgeWise Innovations, he helps individuals and organizations navigate business challenges by guiding teams to move wisely beyond their edge to discover new opportunities.

Join us for an evening of engaging conversation, networking, and light refreshments. All are welcome to attend this free event but registration is recommended.
