Santa Claus is coming to town!
The City of Kitchener is offering two magical, sensory-friendly holiday experiences for people with a special need or disability to celebrate the holidays, spend special time with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and get their photo taken. All ages welcome!
Sensitive Santa Skate
Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Kinsmen Arena, The Aud, 400 East Ave.
Cost: $12.71 per group of up to 6 people
Participants will enjoy a relaxing skate with family and friends followed by a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus in a calm, sensory-friendly environment. Registration is open until Monday, Nov. 18. To register, visit https://bit.ly/4faqIQQ
Sensitive Santa Visits
Saturday, Dec. 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Forest Heights Community Centre, 1700 Queens Blvd.
Cost: $8.85 per group of up to 5 people
Participants will enjoy holiday activity stations, make a festive craft to take home, and have access to a quiet room for sensory breaks as needed. These sensory-friendly events accommodate the unique needs of people living with a disability by minimizing crowds, wait times, lighting and noise which can often be a barrier to experiencing a meaningful visit with Santa.
