Registration for City of Kitchener summer day camps opens March 19
It’s time to start thinking about summer… and summer camp! Looking for a summer camp program to keep the kids active and engaged? Consider an affordable choice at one of our community centres, parks or facilities. Registration opens on Tuesday, March 19 at 8:30 a.m. for all City of Kitchener summer camps for children ages 4 and up.
Camps give children and youth the opportunity to participate in fun, new activities, as well as:
- increased independence, self-confidence and social skills
- a chance to try new things and challenge themselves
- a sense of exploration and adventure
- the opportunity to make friends outside of school and family
- a reason to unplug (no devices at camp)
Most importantly, our camp staff work hard to help participants feel that they are safe and belong.
We offer several themed summer day camp programs including sports, cooking, aquatics, academic, arts, skateboarding, outdoors, specialized camps for children and youth with disabilities, as well as our traditional neighbourhood camps. Be sure to check out the latest issue of ActiveKitchener or visit www.kitchener.ca/SummerCamp for a full listing of options.
Register for summer camp in one of three ways:
- online on ActiveNet - NEW most camps are listed in order of week offered, not by location. If you're looking for a specific location, use the search by location feature in ActiveNet.
- by calling 519-741-2200, ext. 2907
- in person at your local community centre, pool or the City Hall Service Centre
Need financial support?
If program fees are preventing you, or a member of your family, from joining a city or neighbourhood association program, you could qualify for a yearly subsidy of $400 per person in Leisure Access Fee assistance. Apply before registration at www.kitchener.ca/FeeAssistance.
Need support for a person with a disability?
For individuals with disabilities that may require extra support, the Inclusion Support and Personal Assistance for Leisure (PAL) Activities program makes joining our programs possible and more enjoyable.
