Now recruiting for summer positions

It is not too soon to start thinking about summer! The City of Kitchener is looking for enthusiastic, responsible, and creative staff to be part of our team this summer! We are now accepting applications for summer 2023.

Each year, the City of Kitchener hires over 200 staff to help deliver summer camp and youth drop-in programs across the city. These summer employment opportunities include neighbourhood camp coordinators, camp leaders, youth drop-in coordinators, youth drop-in team leaders, youth drop-in leaders, summer inclusion coordinators, inclusion support workers, lifeguards and aquatics staff.

As a part of our neighbourhood camp team, staff lead activities for children ages 4-13. Youth drop-in staff deliver recreational programs at community centres such as sports, art and crafts, and games for youth ages 12 –17. Youth leaders with Doon Skatium help supervise skaters and lead games and activities for children and youth ages 8-17. Inclusion support staff provide one-on-one support to children with disabilities to help them take part fully in summer camp activities.

These summer employment opportunities offer a great learning experience for youth and help to build leadership, team building and program planning skills while providing a fantastic summer experience.
