Nominate an outstanding youth in our community for a KYAC Youth Award

Do you know an outstanding youth who generously volunteers their time to help make their school, neighbourhood or community a better place? Recognize them with a KYAC Youth Award.

Every year, the Kitchener Youth Action Council (KYAC) celebrates the talents and contributions of young people in our community. The KYAC Youth Award recognizes the efforts of young people and generates awareness of the valuable contributions youth make in our community. Nominations for the KYAC Youth Awards are now open.

To be eligible for this recognition, a nominee should:

  • be between the ages of 14 and 24
  • live in the Kitchener-Waterloo area
  • have completed some of their volunteer work or community contributions within the Kitchener community

By nominating a young person for a KYAC Youth Award, you will recognize their gifts and contributions and acknowledge their commitment to the community. A nomination shows them that the work they do is valued and appreciated. There are 12 youth awards categories, including a Youth Ally Award, which recognizes an adult who works with youth as a mentor or support.

Deadline for submission is April 3, 2023. The KYAC Youth Awards will be presented at a celebration event on May 3, during National Youth Week.
