New Williamsburg Community Centre Opens October 14
Kitchener, ON - The City of Kitchener is pleased to announce the opening of the new Williamsburg Community Centre, on Tuesday, October 14 at 9 a.m. Located at 200 Rosenburg Way, this modern 17,000 square foot facility will serve as a hub for recreation, wellness, and community connection.
The new facility is expected to host over 150 weekly recreational and fitness programs, in its two gymnasiums and four multi-purpose rooms. The centre also offers free public Wi-Fi and access to computers with printing capabilities, supporting digital equity in the Williamsburg community.
“This new community centre is a reflection of our commitment to building inclusive, accessible spaces where residents of all ages can come together and know they belong,” said Mayor Berry Vrbanovic. “Williamsburg is a growing neighbourhood and this facility not only reflects the residents here today but anticipates what this community will need for years to come.”
Ward 5 Councillor Ayo Owodunni added: “I can’t wait to see the reaction from community members when they walk through the door. The new centre is fresh, inviting and is exactly what the community has been asking for.”
The former Williamsburg Community Centre, located in Building 600, 1187 Fischer-Hallman Rd, officially closed on Friday, October 10. A grand opening celebration for the new facility is planned for Spring 2026.
