New Square Peg Micro-Market showcases local small businesses
This fall, local small businesses will take centre stage at the brand-new Square Peg Micro-Market coming to Downtown Kitchener next week. Launching during Small Business Week, the market will celebrate local entrepreneurs while giving the community a chance to kick-start the holiday shopping season with unique local goods.
Each week, the market will showcase 10 new local small businesses, with a total of 50 businesses rotating through the space over the market's five-week run. Explore a wide range of products each week, including clothing, baked goods, art, jewelry and accessories, homeware, gifts and more!
The Square Peg Micro-Market will run from Oct. 23 to Nov. 24 in the Square Peg pop-up space outside of Kitchener City Hall. The market will be open Wednesdays to Fridays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.
During the week of Nov. 18, the market will take a special focus on sustainability as it hosts the Waterloo Region Small Business Centre's annual Eco-Friendly Holiday Market, with businesses that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The micro-market is a collaboration between the City of Kitchener, Waterloo Region Small Business Centre and LiftOff. The market is also supported by students from Conestoga College, who are providing merchandising elements for the space.
