New Love Local Pop-up Shop invites you to show your Kitchener pride

Kitchener, Ontario – Kitchener is home to a strong community of businesses and entrepreneurs who contribute to a healthy Canadian economy and a thriving city for residents and visitors to enjoy. Now more than ever, it is critical to support local businesses to help keep Kitchener a great place to live, work and play. As part of the City of Kitchener’s Support Local campaign, and in response to countless requests from community members, we are launching our new Love Local Pop-up Shop to help our entire city show its support for local businesses and our community.

“We all have a part in making Kitchener the incredible city we all know and love. From the residents who make up the fabric of our community, to the visitors we welcome with open arms, to the businesses that help our city thrive, Kitchener is a reflection of us all,” said Mayor Berry Vrbanovic. “I’m proud of how our community has come together to support one another in the wake of the recent tariffs and I’m thrilled to be joining my fellow Kitchener residents in celebrating our Canadian pride with distinctive designs that show our love for our community in a uniquely Kitchener way.”

Beginning May 21, LoveLocalShop.ca is your one-stop shop for a collection of apparel and stickers. The shop features six custom designs on t-shirts, crewneck sweatshirts, quarter-zip sweatshirts, hoodies, stickers and window clings. All the apparel is made and manufactured in Canada, and every item in the Love Local shop is printed by Kitchener’s own Civilian Screen Printing. All the items in the shop are being sold at cost to help as many members of our community as possible pick up one of these limited-edition designs.

The Love Local Pop-up Shop is part of the City’s Support Local campaign, launched as part of Kitchener’s action plan to minimize the impact tariffs have on our community and support the local economy. The action plan also included amendments to Kitchener’s procurement bylaw, initiatives to prioritize Canadian alternatives for supply, outreach with trade-exposed companies to support local businesses, and more.

The Love Local Pop-up Shop will be open online until July 1. Stay tuned to the City of Kitchener’s Instagram or Facebook accounts, or subscribe to Kitchener.ca/TariffResponse, for more information on upcoming opportunities to see the apparel and place your order in-person. If you want to sport your Love Local items on Canada Day, be sure to order by June 16.
