Local musicians invited to perform at Neighbours Day 2025
The City of Kitchener proudly presents Neighbours Day 2025, an annual event dedicated to building community togetherness and neighbourhood pride through live music, summer fun, and social activities. This year, Neighbours Day will be held on Saturday, June 21 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in neighbourhoods across the city.
The City of Kitchener is currently accepting applications from local musicians and bands to perform live and help us celebrate Neighbours Day. From porches to driveways, front lawns to street parties, up to 50 local musicians will share their unique talents through outdoor pop-up concerts hosted by residents in their neighbourhoods.
Neighbours Day 2025 will celebrate a rich tapestry of music from many genres and cultures, where diversity takes centre stage – from pop, rock, country, jazz, or classical, to celtic, reggae, latin, bhangra, afrobeat, samba, and many more! This mix will ensure there's something for everyone, celebrating the rich variety of musical styles from around the world and our diverse community.
Each musical group will perform two pop-up concerts, at staggered times scheduled throughout the afternoon. Neighbours Day organizers will assign performers to the concert locations and each concert will be approximately one hour. Performances can be acoustic or amplified, and the musicians must provide their own equipment and transportation. Performers will receive an honourarium from the City for their time and travel.
If you are interested in performing at a Neighbours Day concert, applications are currently being accepted. For a full description, or to apply, visit www.kitchener.ca/NeighboursDay *Apply early. Applications will close once we reach the required number of eligible musicians. We will be in contact with successful applicants by March 31 to confirm availability.
