Kitchener kicks off a summer of family fun with festivals and events for all ages

The City of Kitchener is launching another vibrant season of familyfriendly summer events designed to bring neighbours together and celebrate this community.  

“I’m excited to see Kitchener light up again this summer with vibrant, family-focused events that bring our community together in meaningful ways,” said Mayor Berry Vrbanovic. “When our parks are bustling and city streets are lined with residents and tourists, we’re creating shared memories, celebrating our rich local culture, and reinforcing the strong sense of belonging that makes Kitchener such a dynamic and welcoming city - together.” 

The season’s highlights include: 

  • Neighbours Day — June 20: Kitchener’s beloved citywide porch party featuring local musicians performing popup concerts across the city.  

  • Cruising on King — June 26: Cruise through the decades with half a kilometre of vintage cars lining King Street, food trucks and live tributes to Tina Turner and Neil Diamond 

  • East Coast Kitchen Party — June 30: A brand-new, pre- Canada Day celebration of East Coast culture featuring fresh seafood from Caudle’s Catch, a beer garden, family games, and lively folk music from Shane Cook & the Woodchippers and Fiddlestix.  

  • Canada Play at Canada Day — July 1: Families can play the Canadian way with free rides, games, music and local food trucks before catching Glass Tiger live in concert and ending the night with a dazzling pyrotechnic fireworks display. 

  • Canada Celebrates the FIFA World Cup 2026™ – July 11: Football fans won’t want to miss this chance to come together for live match viewings, football-themed activations, cultural programming, music, food, and moments of national pride as part of the FIFA World Cup 2026.  

  • KidsPark — August 16: Victoria Park transforms into a kidpowered wonderland with live entertainers, sports, crafts, mighty machines, animal friends and more. 

  • Caribana Ignite — August 21–22: A twoday celebration of Caribbean culture featuring a familyfriendly glow party on August 21 and a spectacular street parade and cultural celebration on August 22 that invites everyone to take to the streets. 

  • Downtown Paddle Palooza Pickleball Festival — August 25: One of North America’s fastestgrowing sports takes over Carl Zehr Square with a tournament, street play, vendors, beer garden, live music and food trucks.
