Host a conversation to shape the Kitchener of 2051, in person or over a free pizza

Kitchener, Ontario – We want to know what you think about the big ideas that have been developed for Kitchener 2051, our upcoming official plan that will guide how and where our community will grow. Host your own conversation with a group of people and order a pizza! It’s on us. We’ll reimburse you up to $30.

We’re launching a new way for you to have conversations in your community to shape the Kitchener of 2051. Ccommunity conversation kits are now available to help you have conversations with small groups in your community about the big ideas that have been developed so far for Kitchener 2051. We want your feedback on the most important things we need to do.

Pick up a community conversation kit at any library or community centre in Kitchener. You can also find them on the Kitchener 2051 Engage page. Then, gather your book club, softball team, coworkers, faith community, neighbours or any small group, for an interactive conversation. Record the group’s thoughts or feedback and send us the completed conversation kit by May 20. Want to order a pizza or hot food for your conversation? It’s on us! The kits include instructions on how to be reimbursed up to $30.

Our in-person “approaches to growth” activity is tonight, Thursday, May 1, at the City Hall rotunda from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. Imagine a week in your life in Kitchener in the year 2035 – and then re-live that week as someone else. What kind of home will you have? What will your neighbourhood look like? How will you get around? Join us to find out and provide your feedback. Food and refreshments will be available.

Kitchener 2051 is about reflecting and implementing shared community priorities. During the development of the Official Plan, there are many opportunities like these to get involved. Visit the Kitchener 2051 Engage Kitchener page for the latest updates, the community conversation kits, an online version of our approaches to growth activity and a recording of the recent speaker series session. Subscribe for updates to stay involved.
