Honour a loved one this season with Williamsburg Cemetery’s Tree of Remembrance
During the holiday season, those we love are close to our hearts, including those we have lost. To help honour loved ones who have passed, Williamsburg Cemetery is hosting their annual Tree of Remembrance gathering this December. On Saturday, Dec. 14 from 1 to 3 p.m., Kitchener Cemeteries invites you to join them at the Williamsburg Cemetery Dedication Centre to enjoy festive treats and commemorate a loved one by placing an ornament on their Tree of Remembrance. The breathtaking 18-foot tree is adorned with heartfelt decorations each year as a special way to embody the spirit of love and togetherness that surrounds the season. Free ornaments will be provided by the cemetery while quantities last and personal ornaments are also welcome.
The Tree of Remembrance can also be decorated throughout December during Dedication Centre opening hours, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
In addition to the Tree of Remembrance, Williamsburg Cemetery also has a second tree to be decorated with charitable donations of new winter outerwear, which will be available to decorate throughout December. At the end of the month, the items collected will be donated to St. John's Kitchen and YWCA Mary's Place.
