Honour a loved one this holiday season by placing an ornament on the Tree of Remembrance

In the spirit of the holiday season, Kitchener Cemeteries is hosting its annual Tree of Remembrance event on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m., for families to visit their loved ones, enjoy festive treats and to place an ornament on the breath-taking 18-foot Christmas tree. The free ornament will be available while quantities last. Community members attending can also bring their own in honour of past loved ones.

A tree in the Williamsburg Cemetery Dedication Centre will also be decorated with winter outerwear. Community members are also encouraged to decorate the tree with charitable donations of new winter outerwear for those in need this holiday season. The items collected will be donated to St. John’s Kitchen, and YWCA Mary’s Place

Kitchener Cemeteries believes that it is important to create opportunities to come together and share stories, honor those who have passed on, and give back to those in need. If you can’t make it to the event, ornaments can be placed on the Tree of Remembrance and donations of new winter outerwear will be accepted until the end of December during business hours, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
