Help make Kitchener litter-free this Earth Day (1)

On Saturday, April 22, the City of Kitchener is joining people and organizations around the world in recognizing Earth Day, an annual event that encourages individuals to demonstrate their support for environmental protection. As part of its commitment to sustainability and environmental leadership, the city is inviting residents to host a community clean-up.

“Earth Day is a chance for us all to renew our commitment to the planet, to pledge to know better, do better and protect a livable planet for future generations,” said Ward 10 Councillor Aislinn Clancy. “Whether it is having a local holiday, protecting mature trees, making changes to our daily habits or advocating for environmental policy changes. There’s no more time to wait”.

Help make Kitchener litter-free. Litter can harm wildlife, damage ecosystems, and detract from the natural beauty of our community. This Earth Day, consider hosting a community clean-up or joining us at the Kitchener Market for workshops on sustainable living and vermicomposting.
