Help inform decisions that are important to our community
From sports and recreation programming to traffic calming, stormwater management and community space design, the City of Kitchener has a long history of inviting public participation and dialogue that help shape decisions that impact residents’ daily lives on a regular basis. Engaged residents make communities stronger and healthier, and meaningful public engagement can bring about new perspectives and ideas that can help solve problems, building a sense of community and shared trust.
The City of Kitchener is continuously working to improve the ways in which residents can participate in the decisions that impact them the most.
Today, the City is launching A Seat at the Table, a community engagement process, designed to gather input on public engagement and participation. Residents are invited to join the conversation through June 30 to share their opinions, ideas and perspectives on how we can better engage people in City decision-making on issues that are important to our community.
Over the coming weeks, we will offer many opportunities to hear from community members, including feedback fairs, booths at community events, virtual workshops and online activities, and a host-your-own downloadable option for residents to lead their own session with colleagues, neighbours, or friends.
