Fall program registration opens August 13 at 8:30 a.m.
Fall is just around the corner! It’s time to plan new ways of keeping the family active and inspired as our days grow shorter. The City of Kitchener’s fall program registration, including swimming lessons, city-run programs, and neighbourhood association programs, goes live on Tuesday, August 13 at 8:30 a.m.
Check out the diverse program offerings in advance. With recreation, sports, and swim programs for all ages and abilities, there is something for everyone! Active Kitchener is your complete guide to all activities and swim programs the City of Kitchener offers. It will be delivered to homes this week and is now available on our website (downloadable pdf) at www.kitchener.ca/ActiveKitchener. Copies are also available at community centres, pools, or city hall.
The City of Kitchener’s own Learn to Swim program is offered at all pools with options for all ages and swim levels. It’s never too early or too late to build your confidence in the water. Know your child’s most recent swim level before you register for swimming lessons. Residents are encouraged to contact their local pool before registration day to help select a program that is right for you.
Register online, in person (at a community centre, pool, or city hall), or by calling your neighbourhood community centre or pool. If you’re registering online, you can set up your ActiveNet account prior to registration day. Add your favourite programs to your Wish List, and then simply move these to your cart quickly and easily on registration day, August 13 starting at 8:30 a.m. Learn more at www.kitchener.ca/ProgramRegistration.
Multi-Language interpretation
As part of the City’s commitment to delivering an excellent customer service experience for all citizens, service in City facilities is now available in over 200 languages! You can request on-demand language interpretation support 24-7 by phone, or in-person during business hours. On the spot, staff will connect you to an interpreter in the language of your choice to help you.
Need financial support?
If program fees prevent you, or a family member, from joining a program, you could qualify for a yearly subsidy of $400 per person in Leisure Access fee assistance. Apply before registration day at www.kitchener.ca/FeeAssistance.
Need support for a person with a disability?
For individuals with disabilities that may require extra support, the Inclusion Support and Personal Assistance for Leisure (PAL) programs make participating possible. For more information, or to apply in advance of a program, visit www.kitchener.ca/inclusion.
