Community clean-up program invites residents to help keep Kitchener litter-free
Spring is here and it’s time to do some neighbourhood spring cleaning! The City of Kitchener’s Community Clean-up Program encourages neighbours to come together for a common cause – removing litter from our parks, trails, and open spaces. The Community Clean-up Program, coordinated through the City of Kitchener’s LoveMyHood program, has launched for the season and runs until October 31.
As the snow begins to melt, and we prepare to celebrate Earth Day (April 22), there is no better time to organize a community clean-up! It is a great way for residents to get to know their neighbours! Community clean-ups provide an opportunity for people to get involved in keeping their neighbourhood safe, clean, and litter-free.
One small act can make a big difference! Kitchener residents are invited to come together with family, friends, neighbours, or colleagues and do their part to keep our city litter-free.
Register for a community clean-up and the City of Kitchener will provide individuals or groups with free supplies (gloves and garbage bags), available for pick up at one of 14 community centres. For community clean-up tips, ideas to plan an event, or to register, visit www.lovemyhood.ca/cleanup.
